Justin Clift, a Radford University graduate, will assist the Virginia Commonwealth baseball squad during the upcoming season.  Clift brings a combined six years of professional and collegiate experience.

Clift started his collegiate experience in 2000-01 when he was Radford baseball’s team manager.  His main duties included equipment management, laundry, travel preparations, scouting reports and game and practice set-up.  Clift returned to finish his degree at Radford in August 2002 and became the student assistant coach for the Highlanders.

Clift, a current student in the VCU SportsCenter program, is no stranger to the Virginia Commonwealth baseball program.  The native of Richmond returned to his hometown in 2001 to attend VCU for a year.  He was named student assistant for the Rams during that season.  During his previous time with VCU, the Rams clinched the 2002 CAA Championship and received an automatic bid to the NCAA Regional in Columbia, S.C.

With his collegiate experience, Clift has been able to add professional knowledge to his resume.  Before attending Radford, Clift worked on the grounds crew for the Richmond Braves’ Triple-A club.  He also continued to work with the Braves as a clubhouse manager until August 2003.

Clift earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise, Sport and Health Education from Radford, with a concentration in Sports Administration.
