RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University will host the 2007 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg, Va. By hosting the 2007 National Championship, VCU is the only team in college golf that holds a spot in the 2006 Ping Preview, which is the strongest field in collegiate golf.
“To be entrusted by the NCAA and all of the teams to host their National Championship is quite an honor,” said head coach Matt Ball. “It has been on the books for a few years now and we are very excited to prove once again how VCU can put on a show on the biggest stage the NCAA has to offer.”
This will be the fourth time the Rams have hosted a national championship. VCU has also been the site of national championships in women’s basketball, volleyball, and field hockey, along with hosting an NCAA men’s and women's basketball regionals.
