The latest addition to VCU facilities is the Sports Medicine Building, which opened in July 2001. This 30,000 square-foot building cost $7 million to build, and is located just west of the Stuart C. Siegel Center. The two-story building houses a student health clinic, and has offices for many of VCUs coaches, in addition to housing the athletic departments academic advising, compliance, sports information and athletic training staffs. There is also ample meeting space for special events, and the building also serves as the headquarters for the VCU SportsCenter, a graduate program in sports leadership. An adjacent three-level parking deck and 20,000-square foot weight room for VCU athletes is scheduled to open in fall of 2002.
