RAMS TOP ALUMNI IN EXHIBITION

RICHMOND, Va. - Junior Ashley Cadwallader ( Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) (pictured) and freshman Vicky Smith (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven) each had two goals Sunday as the Virginia Commonwealth University field hockey team topped its alumni 7-1 at Cary Street Field.

Cadwallader, a 2005 second-team All-Colonial Athletic Association selection, scored each of her two goals in the first period, while Smith found the back of the net twice in the second half.

Sophomore NikkiLloyd (Kent, England/Bromley), who tallied the most points for the Rams last season, scored the first goal of the second half just 35 seconds into the period.

Sophomore Angelina Banaag ( Virginia Beach, Va./Green Run) and freshman Emilie Osinga ( Aerdenhout, Netherlands/Stedelijk Gymnasium, Harleem) each added a second-half goal, giving VCU five for the period.

The lone goal for the alumni came at the hands of 2006 alum Amy Gallivan.

The Rams open their regular season next Saturday in Storrs, Connecticut when they take on the University of Connecticut in the Huskies Classic at 11:30 am.
