RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University sophomore Nikki Lloyd (Kent, England/Bromley) (pictured) earned second-team All Colonial Athletic Association honors and freshman Emilie Osinga (Aerdenhout, Netherlands/Stedelijk Gymnasium, Haarlem) was awarded a spot on the CAA All-Rookie team, the league office announced Friday.

Lloyd finished fifth in the CAA in points in 2006 with 24. The sophomore tallied nine goals and six assists, which ranked sixth and eighth in the league, respectively. Lloyd also finished in the top ten in points per game, goals per game and assists per game. The 5-4 forward’s season highlights included scoring multiple goals in conference victories over Towson and Drexel and posting multiple assists in a match against then seventeenth-ranked William & Mary. Lloyd has started 35 of 36 contests as a Ram.

Osinga started all 19 games as a freshman, posting four goals and two assists for a total of 10 points. The Netherlands native scored two goals in just her second collegiate match, a 7-3 VCU win over Monmouth. Osinga is majoring in pre-dentistry.

The all-conference squads were selected by the league’s head coaches. This is the first all conference team to which either player has been named.
