
KOSTIN CROWNED REGIONAL COACH OF THE YEAR

RICHMOND , Va. – As the Virginia Commonwealth University women’s tennis team prepares to head to Palo Alto, Calif. for NCAA Tournament Round of 16, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced that head coach Paul Kostin has been named East Region Coach of the Year.
With the award, Kostin, one of eight regional winners, is a finalist for National Coach of the Year. Kostin was named Men’s National Coach of the Year in 2000.
In his fifth season at the helm of the women’s program, Kostin has led the Rams to a record-breaking 29-0 record and a berth in the Sweet 16. This past weekend VCU defeated Richmond and No. 37 N.C. State by 4-0 scores in the first and second rounds, respectively.
Currently ranked No. 14, VCU heads to Stanford University’s Taube Tennis Center, where it will take on No. 3 USC at 12 p.m. on Thursday.
