Coach Ball on Chappell:
“I think this year you will see Daryl turn into the player we expected him to be when we recruited him. After struggling his first three semesters, he became our most improved player last year. He really elevated his game and was one of our best players in the spring. Daryl had a great summer in which he worked unbelievably hard on honing the swing and implementing the plan we developed. I can’t give anything but high praise for the amount of effort he has put into taking his game to the next level. He experienced immediate success, having his best summer I’ve seen. I’m really looking forward to him being one of the best players on our team and a candidate to be on the all-conference team, and, if he plays the way he is capable of, he is definitely a candidate for some even higher achievements. I think it’s going to be a great year for Daryl. He has taken it upon himself to do what is necessary to be able to reach his goals.”
