Loveland, OH – Virginia Commonwealth University finished 13th out of 19 teams in the Xavier Invitational at Oasis Golf Club.  The Rams compiled a score of 879 (296-287-296) to finish with a three round total of 15-over par.  Austin Peay (276+288+279=843) claimed the team title in a playoff over host Xavier.

The Rams were paced by junior Jens Fahrbring (Sollentuna, Sweden/Rudbeckskolan) (73+71+68=212) who fired a final round 68 to finish at four-under par, just ten strokes behind individual medalist, John Streibich, of Xavier.  Junior Dustin Hussey (Ridgeway, Va./Magna Vista) (71+71+75=217) (pictured) finished tied for 31st after posting sub-par scores in two of his three rounds. Senior Manuel Relancio (Corrientes, Argentina/Instituto Modelo Jean Piaget) carded a three round total of 224 (77+74+73), while senior Andrea Perrino (Livorno, Italy/Cecioni Scientific Lycee) finished with a total of 226 (75+71+80).  Junior Daryl Chappell (Richmond, Va./Dinwiddie) ended the tournament with a score of 231 (77+74+80).

The Rams wrap up their fall schedule October 27-30 at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C.

Loveland, OH – Virginia Commonwealth University sits in 11 th place following day one of the Xavier Invitational at beautiful Oasis Golf Club. The Rams finished the second round with a 1-under par 287 to give them a first day total of 583, seven strokes over par.

In just his first start of the season, junior Dustin Hussey (Ridgeway, Va./Magna Vista) (pictured) fired a pair of 71s (142) to end the day tied for 15 th, only eight shots behind leader John Streibich of Xavier. Junior Jens Fahrbring ( Sollentuna, Sweden/Rudbeckskolan) (73+71=144), who is tied for 28 th and senior Andrea Perrino (Livorno, Italy/Cecioni Scientific Lycee) (75+71=146), who is tied for 40 th,also carded second round 71s, helping the Rams improve on their first round total by nine strokes. Senior Manuel Relancio (Corrientes, Argentina/Instituto Modelo Jean Piaget) and junior Daryl Chappell (Richmond, Va./Dinwiddie) shot identical scores of 151 (77+74), and are both tied for 69 th.

Round two tee times begin early Tuesday morning.
