Final Results
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Virginia Commonwealth University golf team posted the lowest round of any team on Sunday at the Rutherford Intercollegiate to claim third place just one week after earning runner-up honors at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.
The Rams (313-297-292--902) were led by junior Daryl Chappell (Dinwiddie, Va./Dinwiddie) (78-71-72—221) (pictured), who carded a final-round 72 to finish tied for fourth in the individual standings.
Senior Manuel Relancio (Corrientes, Argentina/Instituto Modelo Jean Piaget) (80-72-74—226) used an even-par 72 in the second round and a third round 74 to finish tied for 17th. Junior Andrea Perrino (Livorno, Italy/Cecioni Scientific Lycee) (74-79-76—229) posted a three-round total of 229 to finish 29th.
Junior Dustin Hussey (Ridgeway, Va./Magna Vista) (81-81-70—232) bounced back from a rough first two rounds to fire a two-under par 70 in his final crack at Penn State’s Rutherford Course.
Also for VCU, Senior B.K. Kelley (Chester, Va./Thomas Dale) (81-75-84—242) posted a total score of 242 in his first tournament of the spring.
The Rams wrap-up their regular season schedule April 28-29 when they travel to Charlottesville, Virginia for the Cavalier Classic.

Complete Day One Results
State College, Pa.- At the end of the first round of the Rutherford Intercollegiate, the Virginia Commonwealth University men’s golf team (313) is tied for 4th place out of 15 teams. The tournament, held at Penn State’s Rutherford Course, will conclude Sunday. Play was slow the entire round due to steady rainfall.
Junior Andrea Perrino (Livorno, Italy/Cecioni Scientific Lycee) finished the day tied for sixth overall after firing a first-round 74 (38-36--74). Meanwhile junior Daryl Chappell (Dinwiddie, Va./Dinwiddie) (39-39--78) followed with consecutive 39s to complete the day tied for 26th overall.
Senior Manuel Relancio (Corrientes, Argentina/Instituto Modelo Jean Piaget) shot an 80 (39-41--80) while teammates junior Dustin Hussey (Ridgeway, Va./Magna Vista) (39-42--81) and senior B.K. Kelley (Chester, Va./Thomas Dale) (41-42--81) shot an 81 and 83, respectively.
Round two, which was halted due to darkness, will resume at 8 a.m. Final round action begins immediately following round two.
