GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Virginia Commonwealth University golf team finished day one of the Bridgestone Golf Intercollegiate in ninth-place after play was suspended due to inclement weather.

Round two was barely underway when lightening surrounded Forest Oaks Country Club, halting play for a second time. As a result, the tournament will be shortened to 36 holes and previous round-two scores will be voided.

Juniors Daryl Chappell (Dinwiddie, Va./Dinwiddie) and Andrea Perrino (Livorno, Italy/Cecioni Scientific Lycee) (pictured) each fired first-round 73s and remain tied for 12th-place in the individual standings.

Junior Jens Fahbring (Sollentuna, Sweden/Rudbeckskolan) shot a round-one 78, while senior Manuel Relancio (Corrientes, Argentina/Instituto Modelo Jean Piaget) carded a 78. Also, junior Dustin Hussey (Ridgeway, Va./Magna Vista) posted a first-round 81.

The Rams begin their final round action Tuesday morning at 8:08 am. Live scoring can be found at golfstat.com.
