DANNY VEGA / STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH
Danny Vega enters his first season as the men’s basketball strength and conditioning coach at Virginia Commonwealth University. Vega also serves in the same capacity for the Rams nationally-ranked men’s and women’s tennis programs.
Vega makes his way to VCU via the University of Florida where he spent the previous two seasons working with the national championship men’s basketball team, along with the women’s basketball, tennis and golf programs. He designed strength and conditioning regimens for men’s tennis, along with men’s and women’s golf, while assisting in strength, speed, and conditioning drills for football, along with men’s and women’s basketball.
Vega obtained a Master’s of Science degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida in 2006, after receiving his bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from Columbia in 2004. At Columbia, Vega was a member of the football team and a three-time Dean’s List recipient.
Vega, a native of Miami, Fla., is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. |
