The greatest shot-blocker in school history... Watson is credited with 391 blocked shots over three seasons (blocks were not kept prior to the 1976-77 season), almost 200 more than the next highest total by a Virginia Commonwealth player... Also the school’s premier rebounder... Pulled down 1,143 rebounds over his career, an average of 11.0 per game, which is second in Virginia Commonwealth history... Watson burned opponents for 46 double-doubles while at Virginia Commonwealth, more than any other Ram... His .547 field goal percentage is the fifth-highest school career mark... Is the only player in school history to block more than 100 shots in a season, accomplishing the feat in each of his final three years at Virginia Commonwealth... Has three of the top seven rebound marks for an individual season, with his best year, 332 in 1977-78, ranking fourth on that list... Is the only Ram ever to have three seasons of 300 or more rebounds... Recorded the only triple-double in school history when he scored 18 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and swatted 11 shots vs. South Carolina State on December 1, 1976... Set a Richmond Coliseum record with 22 rebounds against Georgia State on Jan. 22, 1977...Inducted into the Virginia Commonwealth Athletic Hall of Fame (1993).
