Ronnie Pascale, a standout netminder for the A-League’s Richmond Kickers, enters his third season as the goalkeeper coach for Virginia Commonwealth’s men’s and women’s soccer teams.

Pascale has been a teammate of Rams’ co-Head Coach Chris Brown with the Kickers for the past five years and played a key role in the team’s march to the A-League Championship game in 2002. The North Salem, N.Y. native has served as the Kickers’ starting goalkeeper the last two seasons and received the organization’s Supporters Choice Most Valuable Player award for 2003 after recording 110 saves, a 1.11 goals against average and eight shutouts for the year. Pascale also played one season with the Atlanta Silverbacks, who selected him in the second round of the 1999 A-League draft.

In his first campaign with VCU, Pascale helped Rams’ goaltender Chrissy Lloyd set a school record for the lowest goals against average in a single year.

A 1999 graduate of Furman University, Pascale earned first team All-Southern Conference honors as a goalkeeper all four years and was named to the NSCAA All-South Region second team as a junior and senior. The 1995 Southern Conference Rookie of the Year, Pascale finished his career as the Paladins’ all-time leader with 34 shutouts.
