Joe Haigh is in his first year with the Virginia Commonwealth University women’s basketball program. He is in charge of maintaining recruiting databases, assisting with recruiting visits, coordinating team travel and assisting with daily administrative operations.

Prior to working at VCU, Haigh served as the Junior Varsity Head Coach at Benedictine High School in Richmond, Va. and taught business education at Patrick Henry High School in Ashland, Va.

In 2005, while earning his master’s degree in sports leadership and administration from VCU’s SportsCenter, Haigh spent a year as a volunteer assistant with the Randolph Macon College men’s basketball program. In addition, he worked as an academic advisor in the College of Humanities and Sciences at VCU.

Previously, Haigh worked as an accountant in private business for eight years, while also coaching a boy’s AAU team in Puyallup, Wash. from 1998-2003. Haigh spent 2004 as the Varsity Assistant Coach for the boy’s basketball program at Thomas Jefferson High School in Auburn, Wash.

Haigh played basketball for two years at Green River Community College in Auburn, Wash. before moving on to earn his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame in 1995.
A native of Puyallup, Wash. Haigh and his wife, Sherri, reside in Richmond with their three children, Anna, Teresa, and Patrick.
