RICHMOND, Va. – After sparkling in a pair of victories, Virginia Commonwealth University sophomore Krystal Vaughn (Baltimore, Md./Lake Clifton-Eastern) (pictured) was named, along with Delaware’s Tyresa Smith, Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week Monday.
Vaughn averaged 20.0 points and seven rebounds in VCU victories over Albany and East Carolina as the Rams improved to 5-0 for the first time in school history. She knocked down nearly 58 percent (15-of-26) of her shots from the field, as well as 10-of-13 from the free throw line. It is her first CAA Player of the Week award.

The victory snapped the Black and Gold’s six-game losing streak to the Lady Pirates in the process. She also had 16 points and seven boards in the Rams’ 67-55 triumph over Albany Nov. 21.
Vaughn is averaging a team-best 18.0 points per game this season, as well as 7.0 rebounds, while shooting 54 percent from the floor and 86 percent from the foul line.
VCU and Vaughn return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 29, when they head to Norfolk, Va. to take on Norfolk State at 7 p.m.
