RICHMOND, Va. – The Virginia Commonwealth University women’s soccer team will make its second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

VCU (12-4-5) received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Rams will face Clemson (9-8-2) on Friday, Nov. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Chapel Hill, N.C. National seed and host North Carolina (20-1-0) will meet Western Carolina (18-5-0) at 5 p.m. The winners will play in the second round on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m.

VCU met Clemson earlier this season in the Nike Tribe Invitational in Williamsburg, Va., on Sept. 4. The Rams and Tigers battled to a 0-0 tie.

Under co-head coaches Denise Schilte-Brown and Chris Brown, the Rams won their second consecutive Colonial Athletic Association regular-season title with a 9-0-2 league mark, setting a CAA record for conference victories in a season.

During the regular season, VCU faced five teams in the NCAA field: Hofstra of the CAA, Clemson, Florida Atlantic, UNLV and Dartmouth.
